What will happen if I take part in
this research study?
If you volunteer to participate in this study, the

migratory trajectory, education and occupation of parents, language used in the
home, parent-child relationships, etc.); 2) Primary and secondary school
experiences of children (academic results, peer and teacher relationships,
school-family-community ties, etc.); 3) Experiences of children outside of
school (neighborhood, community and religious milieus, etc.); 4)
Extra-curricular knowledge (family and friend knowledge, religious or ethnic
wisdom, etc.); 5) Relationships to the school and to school knowledge
(instrumental and intellectual relationships, idea about forms of schooling,
educational engagement, perceptions of the school’s role in socialization,
etc.); and, 6) Models of success (family discourse on the school and on the
future, etc.).
