Who we are

Dr. Mahsa Bakhshaei is a Postdoctoral Fellow with joint affiliation between UCLA and McGill University (Canada). Her research stands at the intersection of immigration studies and multicultural education with a strong interdisciplinary and international scope. It deeply explores questions such as: Who are different racial and religious immigrant groups and what are their particular characteristics and experiences? How do they integrate in the dominant society? How do their children engage in family, school, and community? How do systemic policies and programs affect their experiences? How do ethnicity, class, and gender impact the socio-educational experiences of specific groups of these children? And how can we leverage our resources to prepare and support these children to be members of an inclusive society?
